We Deliver More

NamPost Innovation Sandbox · NPIF intake

Prove your product in a supervised challenge

Time-boxed events on synthetic SmartCards, grants, and payment rails. Your team gets an isolated test space, integration checks the Bank of Namibia and NAMFISA can observe, and a clear next step into the main sandbox programme—not production money or real customer data.

Challenge formats

FormatWho it is for
Tech sprint2–3 days · Small fintech cohorts with supervisor observers. Solve one integration problem—such as instant NAMQR settlement—under mentor support.
Public hackathonAbout one week · Open to builders across Namibia. Broader inclusion challenges with synthetic datasets shaped to Namibian patterns.
Structured vendor evaluationAbout four weeks · Pre-selected vendors in a supervised bake-off. Compare solutions with published integration checks and panel review—not a licence decision on its own.

How it works

StepWhat you do
RegisterCreate your team on an open challenge. If Scale Up Namibia or another partner referred you, you can record it at sign-up—it only helps programme reporting, not how you are scored.
Get your test spaceYour team captain starts an isolated sandbox with the NamPost products selected for that challenge—synthetic data only.
Build and prove itRun the published integration checklist. Judges combine automated test results with mentor feedback and panel review.
Exit with evidenceStrong performers move faster into the main NamPost Innovation Sandbox—not a licence or funding guarantee. Your Sandbox-Ready certificate supports investor and lender diligence.

Host a challenge with NamPost

Banks, insurers, ministries, and national programmes can co-host a challenge on our platform. NamPost supplies the supervised test rails, registration, and integration scoring; you bring the problem statement, audience, and prizes.

  • Your organisation is named on the public challenge page alongside NamPost.
  • Choose a testing track—open banking, payments, or full postal-financial rails—with the right NamPost products pre-selected.
  • Automated integration checks feed judging and what supervisors see on the Observation Deck.
  • Partner reports share totals and trends only when enough teams are enrolled to protect privacy.

This NamPost Innovation Sandbox environment uses synthetic data and may include experimental AI models. Outputs are not production advice.

Open challenges

Pick a published event, register your team, and build on synthetic rails while supervisors can follow progress on the Observation Deck.

No public challenges listed yet

The programme office is scheduling the next events. You can still apply for sandbox access today and register a team when a challenge opens.

How partners fit in

Hubs and programmes like Scale Up Namibia help teams arrive prepared. NamPost runs the supervised test environment. Lenders and investors use your evidence—not the hackathon score alone—to make their own decisions.

Upstream discovery

Scale Up Namibia

  • Co-branded challenges raise visibility without implying a licence or funding offer.
  • Programme reports use counts and trends only—never your company's private records.
  • Referred founders can record Scale Up Namibia when they register a team.

Investment promotion

NIPDB (Namibia Investment Promotion and Development Board)

  • Sandbox-Ready winners can be introduced to investor conversations—evidence, not guarantees.

  • Non-fintech ideas are routed back to partner programmes; fintech teams stay on NamPost rails.

Downstream financing

DBN — SME Financing Strategy

  • Integration scores and exit packs help credit committees understand technical risk—they do not replace underwriting.
  • A challenge win is not a loan or investment decision on its own.
  • Pairs with mentoring programmes for teams moving from prototype to commercialisation.

Supervisory observation

Bank of Namibia / NAMFISA

  • Supervisors can follow live programme signals during events—such as step-up checks on payments and grant sequencing.
  • Structured vendor evaluations support fair comparison without replacing formal licensing.
  • Incident and resilience expectations match supervised payment-system practice.

Partners do not grant licences or funding. Every team uses synthetic data only, and finishing a challenge does not authorise you to go live—that still follows Bank of Namibia and NAMFISA rules and your own licensing path.
